The Application Process
Students can enroll to KIPP Journey Academy by filling out an enrollment form by applying online, downloading our application and bringing it to the school, or visiting us in person at the school.
Who Can Enroll?
Any student who lives in the Columbus City Schools District is offered open enrollment to KIPP: Journey Academy. If you are unsure if your residence is within the district, you may check your address by visiting the Board of Elections website here.
Process for Lottery
If the number of applicants to KIPP Journey Academy exceeds capacity, a random selection process will be used for admission, with first preference given to siblings of students already enrolled in the school as well as children of staff and teachers of the school. This lottery will be held on the school day following the application deadlines after which the number of applicants exceeds capacity. For example, if the number of applicants exceeds capacity during the secondary enrollment period, a lottery will be held on May 15, creating a random order of acceptance for all secondary attendance zone applicants. After May 15, seats will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
